“Mass Transit at the Breaking Point”
Those are the words of Gov. Ed Rendell in reference to mass transit in PA. The article is mostly about the financial mess known as SEPTA. And yet there are some in the Harrisburg area that want to take the same idea and implement it here. Those who do of course stand to benefit financially at the expense of Cumberland County taxpayers. They are the same people who are behind Karen Gunnison’s campaign for County Commissioner.

If by “the same idea,” you mean mass transit, then I wouldn’t say “some.” It could more aptly be described as “well of 60% of the entire population.” Cumberland County OVERWHELMINGLY favors mass transit. But when they’re asked the follow-up: Do you realize how much it will cost? The resounding echo is NO.
Its no secret what’s going on here. But here’s the rub: This race is no longer about mass transit. Its about hard work. And Gunnison might be misconstrued, confused, and clueless, but she’s working her ass off.
