Speaker Emeritus

Thursday, January 11th, 2007

Are you kidding me?  That’s the only reaction I have to the insistance that some Republicans have on continuing to empower John Perzel.

The only thing I can see that comes close to this is a piece of history of the Catholic Church.  There was a time when we had the Pope and an Anti-Pope.  There was much bickering over who the real pope was.  Are House Republicans essentially naming John Perzel the Anti-Speaker as a means of protest?

Here’s a newsflash to the House Republicans - you lost the house, you get nothing pertaining the Speakership.  That’s what you get for violating the voters trust.  If you don’t like it, do some thing different than you have in the past.  That starts with the complete removal of the people that got you into the minority in the first place.

Not only does King John not deserve to be in any leadership position, but he doesn’t belong in “public service” at all.

Speaker O’Brien

Wednesday, January 3rd, 2007

I for one am thrilled that Denny O’Brien is the new Speaker of the House - Why?  Very simply this - he’s not DeWeese or Perzel, and he signaled that he would move reform legislation through the House.  What more could you ask for from the most screwed up legislature in the nation?  My sincere thanks go out to all members who voted for O’Brien.

BTW, this means that one of my predictions has already come true.  I predicted that Perzel would no longer be Speaker.
